Hiper II V1 Heating Only Heat Interface

The Hiper II V1 heat interface unit (HIU) is designed solely for heating purposes, featuring a single plate heat exchanger that provides heating via radiators or underfloor heating. It shares the same design and components as the well-established twin plate version but without the domestic hot water production capability. This HIU is suitable for commercial applications where only space heating is required or for certain residential settings where electric water heating is in use. The large surface area heat exchanger allows for a wide range of heat outputs depending on the heat and flow available from the supplying heat network. Additionally, this unit can provide heat for a small indirect hot water storage cylinder, which would be controlled via motorized valves and thermostats for safety and regulation.

Underfloor Heating

Upon initial startup, the HIU is factory-set to underfloor heating mode (UFH) by default. This ensures that high temperatures are not accidentally applied to the underfloor heating system.

For the gradual introduction of heat to newly laid screeds, European standard EN1264-4 Part 4.4.1 provides guidelines:

• Cement screeds require a 21-day waiting period before heating.
• Calcium Sulphate screeds require 7 days.
• Gush Asphalt screeds require only 1 day.

Manufacturers’ specifications should always be followed for all screed materials.

The Slab Drying function can be activated during the first power-up (step 4a) of the controller or by enabling parameter 94 (changing the setting from OFF to ON).

When activated, the system will:

1. Maintain a flow temperature of 25°C for 3 days
2. Gradually increase the temperature to the UFH setpoint over 4 days
3. Return to standby mode upon completion

During the Slab Drying Mode, the display will show the operation time in hours and minutes, along with the flow temperature supplied to the floors.
